You can expect that the past nightlife dating scene was lively and exciting in Boston. There were local pubs, concert halls and other meeting spots to go to. Geraldine Lounge was one of them. It could be found on 1519 Elm Street and was a lively br and lounge, which closed down in 2013. The building located on 15 Lansdowne Street was used to keep the delivery horses, trucks and carriages owned by Eban Jordan, retailer of Jordan Marsh and the Boston Globe founder. But, it was also an entertainment arena back in 1969 where the Ark Club made its name. After the club closed its doors, the Boston Tea Party moved into the building. There were many concerts that were held in this building such as the likes of the Grateful Dead, the Who and Bob Dylan. At that time, the place was managed and run by Don Law who later became a very popular concert promoter during the disco era. The building was later purchased by Steve Rubell and his partner. They converted it to a disco and called it 15 Lansdowne in recognition of the street's name. The building was later sold to Addison and Steve Rubell and his partners relocated to New York City.
By the latter part of 1984, the nightlife scent in Boston appeared to be temporarily at a loose end. The underground music scene was no longer around. The Rat Club came on the scene, offering live music and local performers. The club was dark and private. it carried an extraordinary beer menu with hundreds of beers to choose from. Of course, it only lasted for a few years. While it was opened, the Rat Club hosted some amazing live shows by various musicians. The early 1990s to the mid 1990s were the best years in Boston for musicians that performed live. Narcissus or the Kenmore Club as it was later called was first established in the early 1980s until the early 1990s. It was an amazing club located in Kenmore Square. The club itself was three levels, large enough to accommodate hundreds of patrons.
